In short

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or marketing services and embeds no third-party content. Fonts, scripts and images are all loaded from the same server. Nothing is stored in your browser – with one exception that you switch on yourself: the saved game in the games area described below.

Hosting and server logs

The website is hosted by Hostinger.

Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus

When you open a page, the hosting provider processes the data that is technically required to deliver it: IP address, date and time of the request, the address requested, the amount of data transferred, browser and operating system (user agent) and the referring page.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the secure and stable operation of the website. The logs are deleted by the hosting provider according to its retention rules.

3D object

The 3D object is computed entirely in your browser (WebGL). No data is sent anywhere for this.

Games area (MW Arcade)

The website contains a games area that is not linked in the navigation. It consists of one game, Reality Shift, which runs entirely in your browser: there is no account, no game server, no leaderboard and no tracking, and the sound is generated in the browser rather than loaded. Without your doing, the game stores nothing on your device – no cookie, nothing in local storage, nothing in session storage. Progress then lasts only while the page is open.

Only if you switch on “Save progress on this device” in the game does it put one entry into your browser's local storage (localStorage) under the key “mw-arcade:shift:save”. It contains which rooms are solved and in how many actions, the appearance of your character and, if you leave that option on, your game settings (graphics, sound, controls, accessibility). The entry stays on your device, is not transmitted to me or to anyone else and contains no name or other details about you. It has no expiry date; it remains until you delete it. I rely on your choice in the game for this (Section 25 (1) TDDDG); you can withdraw it at any time by deleting the entry.

You can delete it at any time: with “Delete saved game” in the game, with “Delete game data” at the entrance to the games area, or through your browser's settings. The games area used to contain two further games (Chaos Chess and Origin: Zero) and an earlier version of Reality Shift, which stored their state without asking. If you played them, older entries beginning with “mw-arcade:” may still be on your device. They are no longer read; “Delete game data” removes them as well.

The links to LinkedIn, GitHub and M-Webentwicklung are ordinary links. Data is only transmitted to these providers when you click one of them. Their own privacy policies then apply.
